Z3 Project Rebuild

Role: Create a UX audit to address usability needs, functionality issues and accessibility concerns to better understand how to develop effective user journeys. Break down design problems in order to rebuild each page based on client and user needs. Build mockups to present solutions on the new redesign.

Overview

CHALLANGE

The Z3 Project wanted to incorporate its different users and personas into effective flows that would better serve their needs and use cases. They wanted to turn their outdated article website into a full content hub that engaged the community of members, speakers, events, meetings and sponsors.

GOALS

  • Understand the 3 types of personas that would interact with the website

  • Create meaningful user flows for each user case

  • Improve design layout

  • Engage users with a dynamic content feedback loop

  • Create a better information architecture

PURPOSE

Rebuilding the website into a content hub that allows users to book, stream and participate in local events to promote, educate and build a rich cultural community.

Understanding there needed to be 3 separate user flows for new members, returning members and organization members that would all use the website for different things. Building an information architecture that would incorporate all their needs and center back to the purpose of promoting community events.

  • New Users: Create a sign up stream to access gated content and purchase event tickets

  • Returning Members: Create online profiles pages to better interact with the community

  • Organization: Create donation, volunteer, sponsor and hosting opportunities within the community.

Accessibility Opportunities

Within time and development restraints not all accessibility options were able to be implemented. There were accessibility solutions I proposed to be more inclusive of the community and ability levels.

Language: Offering language settings for the entire site to be translated into Hebrew or English.

Subtitles: Offering subtitles on each video in both English and Hebrew.

Audio: Offering text to speech options for those visually impaired.

Visibility: Offering more hover options to enlarge text, captions and icons to be located on screen.
